Kyou Kara Maou R!

KKM R! on ANN

I just finish watching ep 4 of KKM R! And throughout the whole thing I was so certain that this OVA was a build up to the new season coming out this month.
However, at the end of ep 4 of the OVA there was a preview for the next episode of KKM R! and it was a continuation to the plot in the first ep. As such, I am somewhat confuse right now as to what is going on and what will happen later on.

I cannot figure out what the main purpose of KKM R! is, however I guess it can be seen as a 2 hours long preview to the next season.

New characters are introduced that will most likely play a crucial role in the upcoming season…

Old characters are brought back…

And some funny incidents happen…

Honestly, though I had fun with this short OVA, I must be frank that this anime was somewhat of a mess.

The first episode was great with some tension, some mystery, some bigger thing going on, comic relief moments here and there, the end of the first ep had created a build up for a bigger storyline and danger.

The second~fourth episode however, we are back in Shin Makoku and it seemed like nothing happened. I guess now thinking about it, ep 2-4 might be somewhat of a “before-ep-1″ sort of situation. In these eps we see episodic situations happening and we find out that Shin Ou is still around and he plans on popping by now and then.

My guess would be that ep 5 would be a continuation of ep 1 and it would end there and continue in the new season. Right now I just don’t really know.

I had fun, I laughed, I felt that I should hide my head in the ground at times (due to some lame moments), but it was entertaining enough.

Perhaps this anime has diverted from being a teenage anime to more of a young teens sort of anime. For a moment when I was watching it I felt like one of those kids that watched Pokemon. (^_^!) But I have loved KKM since it’s debut and I still love it.

While there will probably be serious moments with some good fighting scenes and hillarious moments, this might not be an anime for people who are sourcing for a “quality” plot in an anime. There is nothing to deep here that a primary school kid would not understand(at least in my opinion).
The animation for the OVA is decent and borderlining on nice at times. The characters are of course goodlooking ;)

I would really like to see where this anime is headed both for the OVA and the new season that is to come out.

If anyone knows what is happening or what is about to happen, I would be glad if you could tell me.

Kyou Kara Maou R! 05 review

It’s one of those days…

2 04 2008

Do you know one of those days where it is just too windy to go out?
(I can’t believe I am saying this, after all I have live a good 20 years of my life in Singapore.)

When it is just too dangerous to go out ‘cos the sky is falling?

One of those days where you wake up to go to school just to find out that classes have been cancelled?

Or how about when you are so happy that classes are cancelled and want to just go home to enjoy some anime only to find out that there is no electricity?

Today was one of those days for me. (=_=*)

I wanna crawl back under my warm blanket and hibernate… (_ _)zZz

But I am watching Suzumiya Haruhi jumping around the screen.

Anyway, back to interesting news.

Zettai Kareshi

Zettai Kareshi is going to be a Drama!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!

DramaWiki , Manga on ANN

Zettai Kareshi is a manga by Yuu Watase (of the Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres fame)

Riiko is a girl unlucky in love. One day a strange-looking salesman gives her a business card for a website that sells “love figures” (androids designed for love-making). On the spur of the moment and without really understanding the implications, Riiko orders one for a 3-day free trial. She forgets to return him before the deadline, and must then work out some way to return the one million debt she now owes without anyone discovering about this embarrassing secret. – ANN (manga)

That is the manga’s description, I have no idea how closely they plan on following that storyline.

-update-

A live-action adaptation of the manga will begin airing on Fuji TV on April 8, 2008. In the live-action version, Riiko Izawa is an office lady in search of a boyfriend, and she ends up in possession of a “robot” known as Night Tenjo, who is programmed to be the perfect boyfriend. However, this creates a love triangle with a distinguished young man at her company who also has feelings for her. Riiko will be played by Saki Aibu, Night will be played by Mokomichi Hayami, and Soshi Asamoto will be played by Hiro Mizushima. -Wiki

When I first heard of it I was quite surprised and filled with mix feelings.
Honestly, to me the characters were really sweet and handsome and so perfect that it was unrealistic, and to find people who are able to act that way and live to the expectations… that is going to be hard.

The CM for the drama looks… ok… nothing special. I still think that the characters in the manga are hotter (duh!).
But it is not too bad, those actors are pretty hot too. I just am curious as to why Tenjo Knight’s character is so tanned. Looks weird.

I also don’t like the idea that they are making this an out of school anime. I thought that the high school plot was kinda fun. I guess the writers for this series are looking for a more adult appeal rather than teenage appeal.
This really changes things though, like the scenes during their part time jobs in the manga etc. (I guess that this drama would most likely be somewhat losely based on the manga instead.)  I am starting to get worried… (~_~)

But still, it is starting to seem like April would be a good month to start watching all sorts of anime/dramas.

Either way, I would most likely be watching this series. How about you?
