Fall 2011 Anime Previews

We may only be mid-way through the Summer Season but a list of some of the Anime out in Fall has been released. I have compiled some of the shows that I felt were note worthy.

It seems like this will be a season of re-appearances, with many series coming back for a 2nd Season or remakes. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad at seeing this happen. The remake of Hunter x Hunter and alternate telling of Last Exile (and also the remake of Rurouni Kenshin) reminds me of the trend that Hollywood is going through. I just hope that this is not an indication that the industry is running low on quality content and is starting this new trend.

Of course it is nice to see some of the other shows make a reappearance with a continuation like Sekakoi and Bakuman. Now if only there were a 2nd Season of Skip Beat as well…

Without further a due, I hope you enjoy this page and find this helpful.

Which series are you looking forward to?

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Based on the light novel by Hirasaka Yomi & Buriki.

Hasegawa Kodaka has transferred schools, and he’s having a hard time making friends. It doesn’t help that his blond hair tends to make people think he’s a delinquent. One day, he runs into his bad-tempered solitary classmate Yozora while she’s talking animatedly to her imaginary friend Tomo. Realizing that neither of them have any actual friends, they decide that the best way to alter this situation is to form a club and start recruiting.

That is how “Rinjinbu” was formed, a club specifically designed for people who don’t have very many friends. As other lonely classmates slowly join their little club, they’ll try to learn how to build friendships through cooking together, playing games, and other group activities. But will this group of relationship-challenged misfits really be able to get along? – Baka-Updates Manga

This page will be updated as more information comes out.

  1. aaaahhh!!!!! yay!!!! Gotta share this!! XD!

  2. Scrooge McDuck

Wait, wait, wait…! Last Exile: Fam is an alternate retelling!? I thought it’s simply another story set in the same universe…

In any case, Fate/Zero shall be wondersomalistic, I say.

    • Yeap, it is a different story. =/ I already have bad feelings about how that will turn out but I guess we will have to wait and see.

Fate/Zero does seem like out of all the “comeback” shows, it would be one of the more interesting ones.

      • Scrooge McDuck

Ah, but still the same universe? When I read “alternate retelling”, I thought it meant that it’d be in a different universe where all the things in the first season didn’t happen. Franchise rebooting is a practice I generally dislike.

    • Well, I hope so, too, but given how popular the original series is, they’ll probably try to have at least one more connection to the first series besides the setting. Recurring characters from the first series wouldn’t be so bad, I guess. As long as it doesn’t become excessive advertisement for the first series, I’m okay with it. I mean, Gonzo certainly has high hopes for this series so they better shouldn’t screw up by making it an anime like Rosario+Vampire or this Copihan-short-series.

As long as they have the budget for animating the fights satisfyingly Fate/Zero will be really entertaining, I’d say ^^ .

      • Copihan. Lol. Still can’t get over it M0rg0th? =p

I just think ’twas the season to be milking’… I think most studios currently can’t afford to have big name series flopping, so hopefully they did put in the extra effort to make this a series worth our time. As long as they play to what the fans liked the first time around, it should not be that hard.

  3. @Scrooge: It all depends on how important the original series will be if they want to follow up on it or tell another story that plays on a timeline parallel to the first series. But it certainly would hurt the pacing of this series if it’d get stuck rationalizing and discussing the events of the first series. And because of the long time since the release of the first series it’s very likely someone would think it necessary to get excessive with reminiscing the first series. Well, that said, it certainly would be better if the new series does its own thing.

  4. Hunter x Hunter! omg, I have to see that!

Btw nice blog! I love it!

    • Thanks Vagish! =) I am glad you like the blog.

I am also looking forward to Hunter x Hunter the most. =P Hopefully it will be as good as the original. =/ But I have my doubts.

      • The annoying thing is that it’s going to be from the beginning again. It’s going to take ages to get to where they OVAs left off. Although I’d welcome some HD goodness!

      • I know what you mean, I am excited over being able to see the show in HD with a more vibrant color palette (hopefully). But I hate the wait. I am an impatient human being and the waiting will be the death of me.

What would be worse is if the decide not to continue past the greed island arc and just stop where the last one did. I will scream blood murder if that happened.

      • Well it will probably be a year or so til we know. I would be a disappointed if it did just finish where the old one did.

  5. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi 2nd Season?? Really ?!!! You just made my day !! <3 !! i Thought It was Going To take years For It To come Out , Thank God !! YAY

  6. Kya Mirai Nikki ^_^
Why am i such an otaku >_<

    • lol! I have no idea what to expect from that show. It sounds like one of those shows that can either turn out really badly or pretty good. =p

Why are you looking forward to that show? =)

  7. i really wish they would of made a preview of the new HXH series, then we can see the animation movement and stuff and not just images T.T one month is to long to wait :P

    • I think that for a show like this, a preview might cause fans of the original to make up their minds about the show by judging the preview and that could be why they don’t have a preview? =P But a preview would be good. Good thing is it is less than a month! =)

  8. no deadman wonderland, itsuwaribito, highschool of the dead, the world god only knows, kaichou wa maid-sama or k-on! :(
    this sucks :(

  9. I want to watch the anime ”Another” :) I loved the manga to i look foward to 2012 :3
