Sakamichi no Apollon – 05 Review
Sakamichi 05 – The Power of Music
Okay, okay, okay. I have a confession to make.
Sakamichi is starting to lose some of its luster for me.
Sankarea – 06 Review
Sankarea 06 – Zombie Girlfriends Aren’t All Fun and Games
Alright, I’m back in action with this latest episode of Sankarea! In this review, I’m skipping the summary/synopsis and I’m just going to give the highlights of what I loved most… And then…
The all important issue: fan-service.
Read on to see what I have to say about the increased amount of boobs, cleavage, pants-less-ness, and nakedness in sankarea!
Sankarea – 05 Review
Episode 05 – Putting it All in Context
So, this review is a week behind due to my exams. However, I had so much to say about this and the most recent episode, it was only reasonable to split it up into two separate reviews. There’s no summary here, just some of my thoughts about the best aspects of the episode – namely the subtly demonstrated dichotomy between living/dead that makes this series such an awesome watch.
Sakamichi no Apollon – 03 and 04 Review
Well, I took a little break to do exams, and I surely wasn’t expecting to come back and find that such massive developments had happened in the Sakamichi-verse while I was gone! For now I’m just going to touch on the highlights of Episodes 03 and 04, and I’ll be back to regular reviewing for Episode 05.
And, just in case you were wondering, I got straight A’s!
How Being An Otaku Can Influence Trade

Who needs big graphs and detailed studies of the economy to get out of a global recession when being an Otaku is so effective? =P
Here’s another post on a interesting article that I had stumbled across.
Hyouka – 03 Review

Episode 03 – Inheritors of the Classics Club and Its Circumstances
aka Episode 03 – The Case of The Smelly Student
So this episode finally gets down to the main “mystery” plot and the episode simply starts off on a “WTH” note and ends on a “WTH” note. (And I don’t mean it in a positive manner)
If you like some mystery mixed in with your slice-of-life genre then this might be right up your alley as this is just what the series is playing out to be – a light (and not that interesting) slice-of-life show with a hint of mystery.
Japan Spends More Money on Bread Over Rice

I came across this interesting (but rather random) article and though I’d share it with you guys.
Seems like Azuma from “Yakitate Japan!” can rejoice as a recent survey done in Japan has showed that Japan households spend more money on bread over rice.
“The average household spent £214 on rice last year, marking a 4.1% drop in rice purchases compared with the previous year.
Meanwhile, spending on bread rose by 0.2% to £218 per household, according to findings of an Internal Affairs Ministry survey.”
I’m definitely skeptical over how the survey was conducted and how accurate it is but… I think it’s interesting to note that there definitely is an increase in bread consumption in Japan.
So my question to you is, what’s your bread consumption like? How often do you eat it?
Personally, I grew up eating rice and I’ve only started to eat bread everyday out of convenience.
If I were left with a choice of either having rice or bread for the rest of my life, I think I would have to stick with rice. What about you?

Fate/Zero II – 04 (17) Review

Episode 04 (17) – The Eighth Contract
Death is in the air
Here’s a late review of episode 04(17) of the second season of Fate/Zero. (I haven’t seen episode 05(18) yet)
The fourth episode was definitely a lot more than what I had expected. Through crazy (though expected) blindsides, the tables have flipped and it is now a war between Kirei and Kiri. It had felt like an episode of foreboding doom as characters took measures in their anticipation of their death in the War.
UN-GO – 00 Inga-ron – Movie Review
The show definitely knows how to start off with a bang (or a stab in this case. =p)
UN-GO Movie – Episode 00
It was only a couple of seasons ago when UN-GO had graced our screens with it’s take on political agendas and military doubt. Finally, the story behind Shinjurou’s past is revealed in this 45 minutes long “movie”.
This short movie is nice break from the usual simplistic plot nature present in much of the newer series out there, and whilst the plot may have covered pretty much the same themes as seen in the UN-GO series, one can still appreciate the slightly deeper and more thought provoking style in this show.
Hyouka 02 – Review
Hyouka – A mystery series where what the girl wants is more important than the truth
Episode 02 – Activities of the Glorious Classic Literature Club
This episode brings us to the end of the introduction of new characters and the episode finishes on a cliffhanger (kinda).
Judging from the way things are progressing, we can expect the next episode to cover the main mystery plot of the series.
