I just saw this.. this is so cool! 2 of the Ouran Seiyūs won an award! (Mamoru Miyano and Kenichi Suzumura) Though they got those awards for their work on different anime, i am so happy that they won!

I think that the only names that I recognized on the list were Mamoru Miyano, Kenichi Suzumura, Daisuke Ono and Aya Hirano.

I love Mamory Miyano’s voice! He did Tamaki’s voice in ouran and I found it to be really soothing to listen to and the enthusiasm behind the voice is really fun to listen to as well.
Kenichi Suzumura has a very nice voice (he did Hikaru in Ouran) and from the vid that i saw on youtube of an interview with the Ouran cast, Kenichi Suzumura seemed like a nice person and the award looks fitting.
As for Aya Hirano, she is a genius at what she does. I did not like the anime Haruhi (don’t kill me, it is just not my type) but without even knowing that she was the lead in Lucky Star i started loving the character and i realise that a good part of that fondness for the character was due to the voice actress. After some research i found out that she was the lead and i was surprised. So i can understand where all the hype over her voice is coming from.

Yesterday i was curious and decided to look up on the average rates that seiyū usually get paid and there was a really interesting post on the animation industry in Japan. article

After reading that post i had a new found respect for the seiyū of those animations as well as the animators. I mean, the conditions that they work under are quite horrible at times. =_= I am just happy that they continue to do the work they do to entertain fans like us.

Congratulations to the Seiyu who won and those who did not. I am sure that majority of the anime fans are grateful and thankful for the work that is done. Afterall, without them, we would be watching wordless animations.

  1. maa maa otaku

Wrong, In the anime Suzumura Kenichi-san was Hikaru’s seiyuu. Kaoru was voiced by Fujita Yoshinori. But, Suzumura voiced Kaoru in the early Drama CDs.
