Code Geass Season 3 Confirmed

Season 3 of Code Geass , Code Geass Gaiden Bōkoku no Akito, is slated to be out in 2012.

The new project will not have the series’ protagonist, Lelouch, but will take place in the same world. The series is set in Europe where a Knightmare Unit of Zone Eleven boys and girls must rescue allies left behind on the battlefield.

Kazuki Akane (The Vision of Escaflowne and Noein) will be directing this season. Akira Yashuda will be returning to design the mechanical Knightmare units and the script will be written by Shigeru Morita. Takahiro Kimura will also be back to adapt CLAMP’s orginal character designs for the series.

I am not a huge fan of Code Geass as compared to many others as I found the show depressing to watch. But I know many are happy to hear that there will be a Season 3 and many will be stunned as to the fact that anime has gone into the direction of milking old series (Hunter x Hunter and Rurouni Kenshin remake) because they can’t come up with ground breaking new series.

New Rurouni Kenshin Anime Series Confirmed

The June issue of Sheisha’s Jump Square magazine has announced that the production of a new Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) has been green-lit.

I know that this is not really new News but I have not actually written about it and I am looking forward to seeing this series so I shall just share some information about it.

As of yet, not much more information is available, but more information will be out in the future editions of Jump Square. How awesome would it be if Hunter x Hunter and Rurouni Kenshin both came out in Autumn.

Letter to Momo Film Teaser Streamed

Here is the teaser to the new film Letter to Momo brought to us by the director of Jin-Roh.

Okiura has spent the last 7 years planning, storyboarding and directing this film. The film will open in Japan during next spring’s Golden Week holidays.

Hunter x Hunter Main Cast Released

The main cast list of Hunter x Hunter 2011 has been released and is as follows:

Megumi Han (live-action Otomen) as Gon Freecss
Mariya Ise as Killua Zoldyck
Keiji Fujiwara as Leorio
Miyuki Sawashiro as Kurapika
Daisuke Namikawa as Hisoka

This was the old Hunter x Hunter cast list:

Junko Takeuchi as Gon Freecs
Kanako Mitsuhashi as Killua Zaoldyeck
Hozumi Gôda as Leorio
Yuki Kaida as Kurapika
Hiroki Takahashi as Hisoka

It was to be expected that it would have been impossible to get back the same cast members seeing as to how the voice of Gon was done by Junko who is doing the voice of Naruto currently. However, I did hope that they would have been able to get back some of the other older cast. I guess the new remake is trying to recreate itself as something new. I just hope that the new cast will do a good job seeing as to how this is the first seiyuu job for Megumi Han.

Bandai Announces Anime Crossover Game “Heroes Fantasia”

“If you ever wanted a game along the lines of the Super Robot Wars series but with a ton of your favorite anime characters taking the place of famed mecha, you’re in luck. Namco Bandai’s Banpresto label has announced the Heroes Fantasia RPG for PSP.

The crossover title will feature characters from a variety of anime, including s.CRY.ed, Darker than Black Ryusei no Gemini, Darker than Black Kuro no Keiyakusha, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, Sergeant Frog, R.O.D. Read or Die, Slayers Revolution, Rune Soldier, Mai Hime and Blood+.” – Crunchyroll

Eco Character for city of Ube is a Pikachu lookalike

“After the city of Ube in Yamaguchi prefecture posted a picture on Monday of its new “eco character” Ecoha-chan (pictured at right), readers of the city’s online blog and other online users began to point out similarities between Ecoha-chan and the Pokémoncharacter Pikachu. Ecoha-chan had attended the opening ceremony for the city’s new “Ginten Eco Plaza.” (The picture of Ecoha-chan on the city’s blog has since been removed.)

The character of Ecoha-chan, who was designed by the city’s recycling industry group, was first introduced at an ecological event last October. According to the city, after the character’s costume had been completed, an unspecified number of city staff members had said, “It looks like Pikachū.” The character’s copyrights and costume are owned by the city itself.

A spokesperson for the city said regarding the situation, “[Our] original illustration [and the character of Pikachū] are different, and we consider copyright not to be a problem.”

A spokesperson for the Pokémon company that owns the title franchise said, “We will gather more information about the situation, and then we would want to consider our options for how to respond.” -ANN

I think that that Pikachu looks like a Pikachu on the verge of vomitting, and whoever that says it does not look like Pikachu should get their eyes checked. There are more similarities than differences.

Macross Frontier 2nd Movie Trailer

This is one of those things that makes me want to shoot the people milking the franchise in the head.

Remember the awesome series Macross Frontier? Remember the producers milking the series with a horrible Alternate Retelling of the show? Now we have a 2nd movie to follow that. I just hope that this movie will bring back my faith in Macross Frontier.

It is just another in a long list of anime movies coming out yearly milking franchises and duping fans into paying for low quality shows just so that they can earn more money in exchange for fans being able to see their favourite characters once more.

The original Macross Frontier series was good, I don’t see why they had to destroy it with the last movie, and I hope that this one does not do more damage to my faith in the show. The upside is that the songs in Macross are generally good.

-ra out! Well that’s all for this update. Till next time!
