Bokura ga Ita Manga To End and Live Action To Be Out In 2012
Geez, the actors should learn how to smile. They look like convicts next to their anime counterparts.
Remember that tender, romantic slice-of-life shoujo anime with the endearing yet highly frustrating main cast that filled our screens with nice pastel colours back in 2006?
Well, we will finally see an ending to the manga story and a live action version of it. The manga is slated to end in 2012 (finally) around the time the film is set to come out.
Bokura ga Ita (aka We Were There) is a Shogakukan Award winning manga revolving around the love life of high schoolers Yano and Nanami.
Nanami Takahashi is a high school student entering her first year. Immediately on her first day however, she becomes the victim of a practical joke by the school’s most popular guy, Motoharu Yano, who coincidentally also ends up in her class. While the two get off to a rocky start, they soon find themselves falling in love with one another and begin dating. But their relationship is marred by Yano’s past which includes the death of Yano’s previous girlfriend, Nana Yamamoto, and the betrayal surrounding her death. To make matters more complicated her younger sister, Yuri, is in the same class as Yano and Nanami. As Yano struggles to come to grips with Nana’s death and his unresolved feelings for her, so too must Nanami learn to understand Yano if the two hope to continue their relationship with one another. – ANN
Well, after the highly dramatic and soap-opera worthy yet bitter-sweet romantic story in the anime, I could not help but read the manga to see what happened to our favorite couple after the anime. Simply said, I did not like what I had read.
If you do not like being frustrated, then I suggest you either enjoy the ending provided by the anime or wait for the manga to end and hope for the best.
Despite my frustration with the couple in this show, I am still looking forward to the ending of the Manga and the release of the Film.
