Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – 03 Impression

Sounds a lot like rape to me.

Episode 03 – There Are No Flags at The Swimming Pool

Lol, this episode starts off with porn right off the bat.

Fan-service is a full blast ahead for this episode and I am sure many of you would be happy with the outcome of it. =P

This is my impression of the episode

Impression

So the episode starts off with very heavy fan-serivce and once again focuses on the banter between Yozora and Sena which ends up in them daring the other to do something along the lines of reciting a verse. (Similar to the structure of last episode) The episode then tones down the fan-service aspect and brings on the sentimentality with the introduction of Kodoka’s past which has a relation to Sena Yozora. (I understand that the way some kid characters are drawn in animes makes it hard to tell their gender apart, but how can you not know what gender your childhood friend is? This goes beyond bad memory, and into the land of the twisted. =P)

Instant fat! One bite of yakisoba does that. Geez, as if girls don’t already have issues with their weight. Are they trying to make everyone bulimic? =P

”I’ll admit this game has some pretty extreme vocabulary.

But that’s just one part of it.

Besides that, it carries a profoundly deep introspective theme that puts common literature to shame!”

That has got to be the best line of the week thus far for me. I can just imagine a anime director using that as an excuse for all the unnecessary fan service that plagues anime these days. =P

What I find fascinating with this series are the characters’ (mainly Yozora’s) twisted fixation on love that is over-the-top in so many ways. But I guess this is what makes the series so fun to watch.

I am not sure how big this club is going to end up growning into, but I am under the impression that there are still a few more members that have yet to appear. I am just surprised that this episode did not take the chance to introduce new characters, after all, I thought that that was the point of the stalker from the last episode.

Heh, I am intimidating with my hair combed back

Another part of the episode that I had really liked was the “strong and powerful” version of Kodoka that seemed to be out of character since I had figured he’d be a wimp or a typical boring character. Sadly, that scene ended in such a cliche manner which was probably the worse part of the episode as well.

Overall, it was another entertaining episode that surprising did not put me off despite the obscene amount of fan-service in it. This is a total fan-service episode and I am sure some of you are enjoying this more than others. I, on the other hand, am just shocked that I am actually not put off by this series and enjoy it quite a bit. The rest of the episode also managed to bring some character development into the story and that had brought it back down from the land of fluff and gave the plot some direction.

Episode Rating: 7/10 – Perhaps it is nothing special but there was nothing really wrong with it either.

  2. The episode shows the reason why I don’t go to the pool ^^

Still, Kodaka surprised me, how can he dare to complain everyone thinks he’s a delinquent if he acts like that?

And, that porn, I was overjoyed to finally see Luke and Cecilly get together *shot*

I feel like this excuse is going to be used for Guilty Crown at some point (if it hasn’t already).

    Lol.

“Still, Kodaka surprised me, how can he dare to complain everyone thinks heā€™s a delinquent if he acts like that? ”

Hey, at least he looked cool. I was shocked too. I wonder if he really is a delinquent. What do you think?

    @Muse

“I feel like this excuse is going to be used for Guilty Crown at some point (if it hasnā€™t already).”

Yes! I know. I felt that way too. =P Actually, it feels that way with way too many shows.

After all, being a delinquent doesn’t mean you’re a bad guy, nor does it mean you have to be a wannabe criminal. The term is quite wide when it comes to describe school stereotypes.

Lol, I wonder what deep dark past he hides. =D

“After all, being a delinquent doesnā€™t mean youā€™re a bad guy, nor does it mean you have to be a wannabe criminal. ”

Yup, that’s true. After all, anime has taught us that most delinquent main characters end up saving the world. =P

Lol. that was too embarrassing & kodaka was there too.
she’s too fixated on playing that she didn’t notice them entering
    she’s too pure lol.
and with yozora pushing her like that, it wan like she just did an act of crime,
and sena can’t help but feel embarrassed, poor her.

so far, i still feel but liked sena : ) maybe its because of her looks.
I’m always drawn to princesses with an almost perfect features, plus she’s a blonde, likes games, and >.<b i so like her, but yozora's twisted mind and sadistic ways is a very endearing feature as well.

but the thing that's bothering me which is out of place is kodaka's pants.
why was it rolled up like that? : /

    • “sheā€™s too pure lol.”

Well, one might say otherwise due to the game she was playing and how fixated she was on it. But that made for a really funny scene. =D So I am happy she was so engross by it.

“why was it rolled up like that? : /”

      Delinquent alert. =P
