Kelfio’s Introduction

Hello to all you folks out there in internet-land! I’m Kelfio, the newest addition to the Otakuness team. I’ve been avidly watching anime for around 4 years now, and I’ve got a lot to say about it. The most important factor involved in my enjoyment of an anime is style, followed by a series’ ability to elicit a visceral/emotional response from me. Fortunately, those requirements can be met by wide range of genres, themes, characters, and stories, so there are lots of animes out there that I love! Some of my favorites (by no means an exhaustive list, and in no particular order) are: Katanagatari, Moyashimon, Mahou Shoujo Madoka, Kamichu!, FLCL, Nodame Cantibile, Welcome to the NHK!, Fullmetal Alchemist, Mawaru Penguindrum, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Outside of watching anime, I lead a very full and somewhat overly exciting life on a small urban farm in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Between fighting raccoons off of my chickens with a pitch fork and devouring Murakami’s latest novel, I find time to attend college (studying math and hard sciences), sew vinyl outer-space costumes, throw massive underground parties, lead a burlesque and vaudeville troupe, manage a crew of farm interns, brew beer and wine, entertain philosophical musings, manage an artist collective, run three small businesses, and cook a damn good pot of hoppin’ john and collards. There are very few hobbies that I haven’t dabbled in, and even fewer subjects and topics that aren’t interesting to me.

I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts and opinions about anime with you, and I welcome your responses and feedback. Here’s to a great season!
