Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 19/20, Shokugeki no Soma 06-08, Sidonia no Kishi S2 05-07, Hibike! Euphonium 07/08

_C12__Fate_Stay_Night_-_Unlimited_Blade_Works_-_19.mp4 - 00002Yep, two whole episodes of fighting and arguing because two dickheads are just too frigging stubborn to find a compromise.

This time I review:

F/SN: UBW 19/20: Shirou and Archer finally meet in battle which naturally means… A lot of talking! Meanwhile Rin has the most tumultuous damsel-in-distress-arc imaginable.

Shokugeki no Soma 06-08: Soma can do no wrong! And apparently the best kind of school might as well be a tournament in disguise.

Sidonia no Kishi S2 05-07: Tsumugi, Izana and Tanake are having a jolly good time! Meanwhile, evil people do evil stuff with somewhat disastrous results! And those two things barely have anything to do with each other. Talk about plot-synergy!

Hibike! Euphonium 07/08: What do you do as a teenager when you’re not devoting yourself to playing music? Of course, you study! Or you go on a date! As far as teenage-life-tropes go not the most imaginative choices. Maybe the vague romantic tension between two girls will spice things up – is what the script-writers probably thought.

Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 16/17, Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 04/05, Shokugeki no Soma 04/05

_C12__Fate_Stay_Night_-_Unlimited_Blade_Works_-_16.mp4 - 00004Tsundere are really the perfect stereotype for shounen-series like this one. They can be badass in dramatic moments but as far as the main-character is concerned the tsundere can be the most timid person ever.

This time I review:

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 16/17: Illyasviel gets a little goodbye-song from Rin and Shirou who barely knew her. They argue but with the help of Lancer resolve to take down Caster.

Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 04/05: It’s Valentine’s Day! So you know what that means! Girls give chocolate to guys they like! And of course this makes this the perfect moment for a love-triangle to emerge!

Shokugeki no Soma 04/05: Soma had announced that he wanted to become the best cook of the school… but it turns out things are a whole lot more complicating than expected. And of course, it’s all about power. Apparently even cooking is nothing more than a tool to gain power.

Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 15, Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 03, Shokugeki no Soma 02/03

_C12__The_Disappearance_of_Nagato_Yuki-chan_-_03.mp4 - 00000Guess, someone in the animation/art-department lacked the time to hand in their finest work…

This time I review:

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 15: Rin and Shirou wander onto a battlefield within a castle and… do nothing. Meanwhile, a little girl named Illyasviel is fighting for her life with a big, muscular dude called Heracles at her side. It goes poorly for her. Also, dramatic moments in the middle of a battle are the perfect moment to have flashbacks apparently!

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 03: The appearance of Haruhi turns this series into another very familiar series that coincidentally also has a main-character called Haruhi.

Shokugeki no Soma 02/03: Soma is a great cook. And he uses his great cooking-skills to challenge/antagonize everyone around him. Except when he forces innocent girls to taste his experimental stuff which will always lead to them feeling like they got tentacle-raped. Yep, that’s the hero of this series.

Review-Roundup: Shokugeki no Souma 01, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 13

[C12] Shokugeki no Soma - 01.mp4 - 00006This series has a very odd definition of how the sense of taste works.

Shokugeki no Souma 01: Souma wants to be a cook – like his dad. But his dad is too cool to be beaten by a cook as halfbaked as Souma. Just as Souma had proven his worth in a challenge posed by a landshark, his father announces that he would leave Souma behind and he told him that he would finance his time at a cooking-elite-school (you see, it isn’t a school where you learn to be part of the cooking-elite, you go there because you’re already part of the cooking-elite for some reason).

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 13: Rin has a bad day. Shirou is there to give her a shoulder to cry on and to confess his love. Also, Archer is an asshole (which still makes him a more charismatic person than Shirou in this episode).
