“I think it is time for me to give up…”
This series really does my head it at times. Every time it comes to watching this show, I would lack the enthusiasm to see it, but when I finally get to watching the story gets me interested and excited again although disappointed at the same time.
My biggest problem with this series so far would be after the first few episodes, the quality of the show has dropped. Whilst the story is interesting, the animation quality is bad and there really isn’t too much to talk about week in and week out when it comes to this series.
My string makes good dental floss
There is just something odd about this series with how the execution of the ideas is always mediocre and never as good as what it probably could be.
This episode revolves around multiple fights taking place in the sky. It centers around Rikuo and his friend on board the ship towards Kyoto as they encounter trouble along the way.
What an action packed episode, it is just one fight scene after another. This episode has finally brought back my interest in this show.
The first half of the episode covers the Onmyouji in Kyoto and their battle with Hagu-chan whilst the second half focuses on Rikuo and his team en-route towards Kyoto.
Lets play the “Which one is Kappa” game!
This was such an odd episode of Nurarihyon no Mago.
We are into week 9 of the summer anime season and Nurarihyon is no longer on anime on my list of consistently good anime. However, I still like the show.
There were a few moments where I got excited but then it got destroyed when the director decided to become superman and rush the scenes.
Episode 08 – Haguromo Gitsune’s Kyoto Invasion
What the… What an anti-climatic start to the episode. =_=” Someone should kill that disturbing hentai old man onmyouji. Wait, they did.
Anyway, this ends the Tono village arc but eventhough Rikuo has left the village it seems like his training will continue. Meanwhile, Kyoto Onmyoujis are getting trashed by Hagu-chan (Haguromo Gitsune) and Yura looks like she is starting her training.
This was such a disappointing episode and it is probably the first time this season that I am complaining that any episode is rushed.
The whole training phase of this show felt rushed and I didn’t see any real point to it except for it to be a chance to introduce more new characters. But we will have to see what the next episode brings. For now, this is the first time this season where I am not jumping up and down for the next episode after having seen this episode.
I will kick start the string of episode 6 reviews with Nurarihyon!
What a nice way to start a dreaded Monday as always.
This episode of NnM is what I would like to call the “Training Phase”, most typical Shounen plots go through this:
Main character is an underdog in some way shape or form >> proves to have some sort of strength >> meets a challenge which he can’t overcome >> “Training Phase” required in order to gain the strength to meet challenge >> etc.
What another exciting episode! This episode continues the Past Arc from last episode and the episode ends with the conflict and the Osaka situation being resolved.
(contains episode spoilers)
Nurarihyon goes to the Osaka Castle chasing after Princess Yo and Hagoromo Gitsune while Koremitsu goes back to the Keikain main house to report to his brother, Hidemoto.
Screencaptures to be added later today. Here they are =) (please note that the images contains episode spoilers, so ignore them if you don;t want to be spoiled.
What better way is there to kick start a week than with a good shounen anime series that is awesomely paced like Nurarihyon no Mago?
This season is definitely better than the last and the consistency in the quality of the episodes makes me crave more and more.
This episode is the flashback arc to what happened in Kyoto in the past and introduces us to the beginning of the meeting between the Keikain Clan, Nurarihyon, and Haguromo Gitsune. The whole episode is a buildup to the eventual meeting between these three main parties with the catalyst of it all being Princess Yo; a human with magical healing powers whom the Keikain Clan have been paid to protect. Nurarihyon had seek her out due to her renowned beauty and decided to court her while in Kyoto dealing with business related to Haguro Gitsune.

And so all the episode 3 of the series are coming out and this is the 2nd anime I have reviewed today and it sure does not disappoint.
So this episode naturally continues where last episode had left off.
Last episode was spent building up to the revelation of Rikuo’s identity. And this episode starts off with just that, now Yura finally knows who Rikuo is. The first half of the episode focuses on the fight between Yura’s brother and Rikuo. I really am not sure how to explain the fight scene, you gotta see it to understand it I guess but I shall try my best here.
