The historical precision of this episode needs to be praised for finally acknowledging that at the beginning of the 20th century reading wasn’t an invention needed for understanding texts.
Dantalian no Shoka presents itself this week with another rather lacklustre episodic story that could’ve been good in another parallel universe where this series doesn’t have to tell the story in one episode. But aside from science-fictional mind-games this episode did also have some point that were simply wrong no matter how detailed they would’ve constructed the story. Yeah, Dantalian no Shoka doesn’t seem to end up as a really good series that’s worth remembering.
Did you ever ask yourself how it’s like to meet your soulmate? Well, Armand did and look at what happened to him, that fool…
A bit late, I know, but well, better late than never. So Dantalian no Shoka 08 back with episode 09 and 10 in its 08th episode because the series loves to confuse you with numbers; it kinda works, I have to admit, not because its difficult to understand but because it’s difficult to figure out why someone would bother to count the stories like that. Whatever, this weeks topics: Teddybears are valuable treasures and finding your soulmate is an experience full of fiery passion.
“You know what’s funny about you, Hal? You’re supposed to be the main character of this episode but everybody will ask himself what the hell you’re doing in this episode…”
It’s always nice to be surprised but sometimes it really seems like people forget what the benefit of consistency is. Dantalian no Shoka shows again this week that there’s no such thing as “like expected” with the episode structure of this series.
“It’s an old tale about an evil woman and five stupid men. Been there, done that. You’d think it could get more imaginative than that but history sure does love its reruns.”
Dantalian no Shoka seemingly doesn’t want to bet on one type of episode or genre and once again changes its style in this episode. This week the episode was rather light-hearted and the stuff of the plot more on the humorous side of things. But was it a good episode despite this change of mood?
First Impression – Episode 1
This is another late first impression of a show, but seeing as to how I have been in bed the whole weekend doing nothing much and being sick, I finally decided to watch Dantalia no Shoka. Here is my impression of the show along with a plot summary.
