Kamisama no Memo-chou Series Review

Seeing as to how this series has just ended last week, here is a my review and thoughts on Kamisama no Memo-chou.

Plot Summary:

Narumi Fujishima is an ordinary high school boy who remains isolated from his fellow classmates. One afternoon fellow classmate Ayaka Shinozaki invites Narumi to join the gardening club and introduces him to a reclusive detective named Alice. Alice hires Narumi as an assistant and puts him to work solving the strange mysteries of Angel fix, an illegal drug. Little does he know it could put him and Ayaka in serious trouble. -ANN

Can you believe that the genius Alice did not realise that Ayaka’s handphone was missing when they found her?

Episode 12 (Final)

What an unbelievable episode (and I don’t mean it in a good sense).

I was hoping for the last case to at least bring back some of the glory the first case had introduced, but in the end, it all came crashing down on itself.

Episode 11

I have been looking forward to this episode all week thinking that perhaps this case would be the redeeming one for Kamisama no Memo-chou but after watching this episode, I have to say that while this is a interesting case, it seemed to have lost some momentum.

Episode 10

I have been putting off reviewing this episode for fear that it would be bad.

Surprisingly, I actually really liked this episode and it reminded me of the very first episode of the series. Beautiful animation, interesting mystery/case, a dark melancholic atmosphere and a nice touch of slice-of-life.

Episode 9

Such a pointless and terrible episode without any meaning at all. The only consistent thing about this show is the animation quality.

Just as the series finally gains some momentum from the previous case, they decided to throw in a pointless crappy episode that destroys all the hope that I had for this episode.

I would essentially call this a filler episode (which is ridiculous since there are only 12 episodes) if not for the very last minute of the episode which seems like it will be the lead into the next NEET case.

But the fact remains, it was a pointless and poorly executed slice-of-life episode which is not even a detective case of sorts.

Episode 08

I woke up at 6am on a Sunday morning to write this review so hopefully what I say makes sense.

This episode brings the Hirasaka-gumi case to an end.

It was a good episode that did not let down the effort that was spent on the build-up and atmosphere in the previous episodes.

Episode 7

So did this episode fulfill the expectation brought upon by the last episode or did it fall flat on it’s ass once again?

I am happy to say that overall, it was an exciting episode and the cliffhanger at the end really made me excited.

Episode 06

So far it has been a good week for anime with the excitement levels building up towards the climax. Kamisama no Memo-chou does the same thing too, but the biggest issue with this show is that the direction this arc is taking seems to be trashing whatever direction the first couple of arcs had manage to build up.

The series is moving towards a more slice-of-life, drama direction which is away from the whole detective genre the first 3 stories mainly were. Perhaps it can be seen as a good thing because the previous “mysteries” were honestly not that great. One can only hope that the show has finally settled and decided on what it wants to be and sticks with it seeing as to how it is already halfway through the series.

Episode 5

So this episode marks the end of Week 5 of this season’s anime reviews. This was another odd episode, the episode was more of a slice-of-life episode following Narumi around as oppose to a detective/case based episode.

The episode basically follows Narumi as he carries out tasks for the Fourth and introduces a new case that is brewing in the background.

Episode 04

I am sorry for the late review, but I am also kinda sorry I wasted time watching this episode. I am also sorry that there will not be a summary of the episode because I feel that it is not worth the time due to the terrible case. I was not in the best of moods when I watched this episode and lets just say, it did not help my mood one bit.

So without further a due, This episode was focused on the NEET team with the plot and mystery revolving around Minli’s past, so that means no external cases.
