Review-Roundup: Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 07-11, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 23

She is, she really is! Nagato’s new personality in this spin-off-series is less interesting than the old one, especially in romantic scenarios.

This time I review:

Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 07-11: Somehow Nagato manages to get closer to Kyon. Some might say it’s all thanks to the plot but whatever… Anyway, then one day she almost gets hit by a car but during the accident she becomes the emotionless alien-version of herself again and so… stuff happens which I guess, some people care about.

F/SN: Unlimited Blade Works 23: Gilgamesh wants to initiate an apocalypse because humanity has mostly turned into weed (in his opinion). Shirou, Rin and Saber are the only ones who can stop him. And… they pretty much get as far as to the point where a cliffhanger seems sensible.

Haruhi demonstrating that even in competition with studying she wants to be the center of attention. In summary: Haruhi’s an obnoxious character.

Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 06: A new school-year has started! And so it’s time for some wacky antics that don’t go anywhere!

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 18: *gasp* Finally! The penny has dropped! And of course everybody’s like “Yeah, actually, I already knew since way back when…”. And Rin as the female lead had to turn into a damsel-in-distress at some point, of course… It’s all pretty obvious, if you ask me. But what would be F/SN:UBW without a bunch of jerks talking A LOT about such obvious things…?

Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 16/17, Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 04/05, Shokugeki no Soma 04/05

Tsundere are really the perfect stereotype for shounen-series like this one. They can be badass in dramatic moments but as far as the main-character is concerned the tsundere can be the most timid person ever.

This time I review:

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 16/17: Illyasviel gets a little goodbye-song from Rin and Shirou who barely knew her. They argue but with the help of Lancer resolve to take down Caster.

Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu 04/05: It’s Valentine’s Day! So you know what that means! Girls give chocolate to guys they like! And of course this makes this the perfect moment for a love-triangle to emerge!

Shokugeki no Soma 04/05: Soma had announced that he wanted to become the best cook of the school… but it turns out things are a whole lot more complicating than expected. And of course, it’s all about power. Apparently even cooking is nothing more than a tool to gain power.

Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 15, Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 03, Shokugeki no Soma 02/03

Guess, someone in the animation/art-department lacked the time to hand in their finest work…

This time I review:

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 15: Rin and Shirou wander onto a battlefield within a castle and… do nothing. Meanwhile, a little girl named Illyasviel is fighting for her life with a big, muscular dude called Heracles at her side. It goes poorly for her. Also, dramatic moments in the middle of a battle are the perfect moment to have flashbacks apparently!

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 03: The appearance of Haruhi turns this series into another very familiar series that coincidentally also has a main-character called Haruhi.

Shokugeki no Soma 02/03: Soma is a great cook. And he uses his great cooking-skills to challenge/antagonize everyone around him. Except when he forces innocent girls to taste his experimental stuff which will always lead to them feeling like they got tentacle-raped. Yep, that’s the hero of this series.

Review-Roundup: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 14, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid 02, Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 02, Ghost in the Shell Arise: Alternative Architecture 01/02

If anything, this series has proven that Shirou has been the guy with a plan. So, of course, in this critical situation it should be him who should be in charge.

This time I review:

F/SN: Unlimited Blade Works 14: Shirou and Rin have some dinner and then start a little fieldtrip to find a new ally in their desperate fight. Gilgamesh crashes the party in the most cruel fashion.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid 02: The evil girl who beats up other people at night turns out to be a little girl with a little problem. The good guys try to help her. Also, Vivio is trying to be Rocky or something…

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu 02: It’s the obvious choice for a Spring-season-series: This is the Christmas-episode! And so Nagato’s little club has a party where stuff happens. Then Nagato remembers having met a certain person named Haruhi Suzumiya and it’s a big deal because she’s uber-crazy… also she’s really important in the original series.

Ghost in the Shell Arise: Alternative Architecture 01/02: The ghostiest of ghosts deals with a very ghost-y situation where viruses do this and that to ghosts. Also, someone in the army is a corrupt piece-of-shit. And with that the fourth story-arc in the Arise-series ends in the second episode of this series.

Review-Roundup: Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid 01, Nagato Yuki-chan no Shōshitsu 01, Arslan Senki 01

That’s the best way to summarize this first episode actually: It’s a romantic comedy interrupted by outbursts of shrillness reminiscent of the original Haruhi-series.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid 01: A little girl becomes a woman because of magic and it’s all for the sake of kicking ass! Her two mothers, Nanoha and Fate, try to cope with that change.

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shōshitsu 01: Nagato is a shy nerd who secretly loves some lazy dude with a very laid-back depression and a heart of gold.

Arslan Senki 01: A prince gets kidnapped and learns that slavery isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
